Nier

So, I played Nier for a few hours today. Here are my first impressions:

• The graphics in this game sometimes suck, sometimes are ok.
• The main character is ugly. Like, really ugly.
• It’s a lot of fun.
• The fishing game sucks.

Yeah, I tried the fishing game for about a half hour before I gave up. Maybe I’m missing something subtle, but I just can’t catch anything. I’m guessing it’s just me fumbling with the mechanics.

I also did a side-quest where I fought a boar. The boar was waaaay more powerful than anything I had fought prior to it. Like, even stronger than bosses. Luckily I found a large boulder I could stand on where it couldn’t get me and whittled it’s life away with my low level magic spell.

It’s a pretty fun game, and I’m sure once I figure out how to work the fishing game mechanics I’ll have some fun with it.

Oh yeah. And the soundtrack is pretty sweet.
